This week's story
I Asked Claude to Add Two Nav Links. It Found Four Things Wrong With My Site.Hi Reader, Yesterday I opened a chat with Claude with the smallest possible ask: add two links to my website's nav menu. A "Community" link to my Substack, and a "Demos/Video Tips" link to my YouTube. Two-minute job. I wasn't looking for anything else. The AskThat's it. That's the whole request. Add two nav links so people could actually find my community and my videos without digging. Claude added them — both open in a new tab, right after Newsletter, exactly where I wanted them. Done in a minute. What It Found Along the WayThen it kept looking, because I asked it to check the rest of the site while it was in there. Here's what turned up:
None of this showed up from looking at the site. It only showed up because something made me actually check. The Lesson Under the LessonYou don't know what you don't know until something forces you to look. I've looked at my own website more times than I can count, and I never once noticed that four pages were fighting over one title tag, or that my metadata was still describing an audience I stopped serving months ago. A two-line nav request turned into a full pass: unique titles and descriptions for all four pages, corrected audience language sitewide, and a proper branded image for social shares. All fixed in the same afternoon it was found — because finding it was the hard part, not fixing it. What This Means for YouYou almost certainly have version of this sitting on your own site right now. Here's the prompt I'd run if I were you — paste your homepage URL in and let it work: Act as a website SEO auditor. Here is my website: [URL]. For each main page, tell me: (1) what the current page title and meta description say — and flag it if they're missing or duplicated across pages, (2) whether the copy still matches my actual audience and offer, or sounds like it's describing an old version of my business, (3) whether there's a working og:image, so links preview properly when shared on LinkedIn, Slack, or text, and (4) any other quick technical issues worth flagging — robots.txt blocks, missing sitemap, missing structured data. Give me a prioritized punch list, not just a summary.
For what it's worth, my own punch list isn't finished. I still need to add a sitemap and structured data, and decide whether my booking page should even be visible to Google. Fixing this stuff isn't a one-time event — it's maintenance. If You Want the Bigger HaulThe prompt above will catch the obvious stuff in an afternoon. If you run an online community — Skool, Kajabi, a membership site — and want someone else to do the deep version, that's exactly what my Community Audit is for: a 17-page report on what's actually working and what's quietly broken, no login required. It's the same instinct as this story, just pointed at your whole community instead of four meta tags.
Hit reply and tell me: when's the last time you actually looked — really looked — at your own website? I read every one.

Terry M. Lee · AI Simplified Issue No. 005 This week's story I Said Yes to a Favor. AI Turned It Into Five Products. Hi Reader, This week's biggest AI win didn't come from a client project or a product launch. It came from a favor. A friend asked me to design a composition book cover for her job. Air Force themed. Blue, white, and gold. One design that had to represent four different departments — front desk, supply, housekeeping, and maintenance. I'm not a Canva expert. Left to my own tools,...
Terry M. Lee · AI Simplified Issue No. 04 This week's story Claude Is My Silent Business Partner — Here's How That Actually Works Hi Reader, Six months ago, I was running two businesses by myself and another as a wish in the back of my head. Not "by myself" in the founder-brag sense — actually by myself. I was the strategist, the copywriter, the bookkeeper, the launch planner, the tech support person, and the one answering emails at 11pm, all in the same day, all in one brain. If you've ever...
Terry M. Lee · AI Simplified Issue No. 03 This week's story My Bookkeeper Costs $20/Month, Never Sleeps, and Never Takes a Vacation Hi Reader, As a solopreneur or business owner, do you do your own bookkeeping? Do you hire it out? What if your AI Team Mate — bookkeeper and financial advisor in one — could just do it for you? I've told Claude — more than once — that I am not a bookkeeper and I don't want to become one. Reconciling accounts is exactly the kind of task I'd normally hand off to...
